Hanging Baskets

We used to have this awkward empty wall space in our back sunroom off of the kitchen (don’t mind the beautiful orchid creepin’ into the picture)…

Liz and Tom think the sunroom was added on to the house at some point and that this used to be where the outdoor fuse box used to rest? Regardless of what it was used for, it just stuck out in comparison to the rest of the brick wall. So Liz was pretty excited to find a few of these Charlotte Lined Wire Baskets from World Market! Only $7.99 for the small-sized baskets, so this little makeover was a steal :)

The baskets weren’t meant to be hung, but they managed to catch pretty well on flat head nails. They ended up filling the space really well — love the before and after!

And one last shot of the whole space… Now we just need to figure out what to store in the baskets :)

Hope you’re having a good start to the week!

  1. I love your baskets and that you have them hanging. They are perfect in your space. Thanks so much for linking up to DIYbyDesign’s Sizzle into Summer party.

    • We think so too, Tammy! Liz actually only bought two baskets originally, but then realized she could squeeze in a third one :)

  2. Hi! LOVE the result! How about putting some of that plant basket material (forgot the name) in the baskets and putting in some flowers or greenery? Just a thought! Best wishes!

    • Thanks Christine! I LOVE the idea of using the baskets as planters… I think Tom will have to be in charge of keeping the plants alive though (Liz doesn’t even have the slightest green thumb). The ONLY thing keeping our orchids alive are their little water globes :)

  3. This is so creative. Got me thinking over here. I would love it if you could share this wonderful post at our WIW linky party. I hope you can join us.
