Friday I’m in Love – with Black Gallery Walls

Ok, maybe love is a bit strong here — I should say that I’m very SLOWLY warming up to black walls in general, but DEFINITELY starting to fall for black gallery walls in particular. I wanted today’s post to be about Friday the 13th, but I can’t stand horror movies, I didn’t want to steal Halloween’s thunder, and there was no way I could write an ENTIRE post about black cats. So black gallery walls it is!

I’m not sure if Liz and Tom would ever take the plunge and paint one of our walls black (we have a navy blue guest bathroom that they’re already planning to lighten up). The photos of black gallery walls that I found below are SO lovely though, it would be hard to say no after seeing these…

Hope you enjoyed these photos — and Happy Friday the 13th!

Friday I’m in Love – with Sukan Handmade Design

Every once in a while I’ll come across an Etsy shop that I don’t just love, but am OBSESSED with… Such was the case when I found Sukan Handmade Design. I couldn’t resist browsing their entire selection after seeing this cute-as-can-be grey and yellow linen love birds pillow cover.

Sukan has some of the most beautiful pillow covers I’ve ever seen! The designs are just amazing, and the selection is unreal. Yes, I DID go through all 1700+ products (twice!) to show you some of my favorites…

Starting with their rectangular silk ikat pillow covers.

The silk colors are so vibrant! My favorite has to be the multi-colored ikat pillow cover below. I don’t think I’d ever get sick of it! And at around $50 for the silk covers, they’re not as expensive as some of the other designer pillow covers I’ve seen.

Of course Sukan has some higher end pillows as well — and of course, I love them even more! Below is a sampling of their Turkish and bohemian pillow covers made from antique kilim (a kind of rug!)…

My true love is for their hand embroidered pillow covers though…

I just love every single one of their pillows :)

Don’t forget to stop back tomorrow to see what Liz and Tom are able to find at yard sales (assuming they don’t melt from the heat, of course)! Hope you have a great start to the weekend!

Friday I’m in Love – with Quatrefoil Patterns

I think my love for quatrefoil patterns started when Liz brought home several of these coasters from Pier 1 Imports a few months ago.

“Several coasters” may be misleading — she brought home 12 (in black, red, green, and blue)! Eventually she ended up giving a few away as a housewarming gift, but it was love at first sight when I saw them. Now I can’t stop thinking about all the other accent pieces I want in quatrefoil…

Like a nice mirror for the dining room (or anywhere else in the house for that matter!). I love this antique-looking mirror against the turquoise.

Although these more neutral looks are just as beautiful :)

I could DEFINITELY get on board with a quatrefoil rug as well…

Better yet, a quatrefoil AND greek key rug?! Yes, please!

The quatrefoil piece that I REALLY want is an upholstered chair though… The chair in the bedroom below is just perfect!

Maybe I can convince Liz and Tom to reupholster their yard sale office chair find in quatrefoil fabric?! It’ll be a tough sell though — I think the 1970’s yellow is starting to grow on them :)

Hope you have a great weekend!
